Abstract
Understanding the link between people and economic value creation
is the key to realizing the potential of an organization's
human capital. Our current leadership thinking and management
practice about this link is seriously flawed. In this dialog we will
surface two such flaws and outline the provocative new ideas that
could take their place.

Mark K. Clare, the session leader, has 20 years of experience in
knowledge management, technology and applied philosophy at
leading firms including 3M and Allstate. He has extensive experience
with human capital as a Fortune 500 executive and has
published widely in this emergent field. Mr. Clare is currently
president of Knowledge Dynamics and a Director at Parkview
Health.
