Find out how we apply our expertise to our areas of practice. Areas of ExpertiseThe Center is built upon the expertise of the Learning Sciences faculty at Northwestern University. Its interdisciplinary and applied nature attracts the interest and participation of faculty from around Northwestern and from other academic institutions, including those in business, engineering and computer science. The Center also attracts the interest and participation of a wide variety of leaders from industries and disciplines that include consulting, education, energy, financial services, government, health care, manufacturing, retail and technology. Our foundational strength is that we understand and design work in such a way that learning is incorporated as an everyday part of how work gets done. The pillars of our expertise include the design, uses and effects of workplace catalysts such as technology, community, organizational change, and leadership.
